How to change resolutions on a Mitsubishi tv?

i have a 52 inch Mitsubishi projection tv. recently i haven't been able to change video imputs or change the screen resolution from 480i.How to change resolutions on a Mitsubishi tv?
does it support higer resolution and u should be able to do it from the setup menu or on some models its on the controllerHow to change resolutions on a Mitsubishi tv?
Only if it is HD, when you say you can't change video inputs are you saying if you use the remote and push the ';input or device'; button you are not offered the choice to change from one device DVD to another antenna for example. If an option that was there before is no longer there then you should push the menu button and go to ';net command'; click preview and see if the options list has all the little boxes on the left checked.

some remotes for Mitsubishi use a different term than others, and if you are on satellite then the receiver may be controlling the 480,720,1080 setting you can access this with the satellite remote control under setup.

How to change resolution for windows vista permaneantly?

After playing a game that takes up the whole screen my resolution changed. Of course I change it back to 1280 x 800 but whenever my laptop goes to sleep and I open it the resolution changes and I have to wait 3-5 seconds for it to change back to what I changed it to last time. Sometimes it doesn't change at all and I have to change it to 1280x800 again.

How do you change it to make it a permaneant resolution?How to change resolution for windows vista permaneantly?

Try to reset the TV/monitor. Look for the reset feature in the menu. Then adjust to your desired resolution.

When I try to change my screen resolution, it says ';Out of Range';?

Currently, my screen resolution is on 1440 x 900, which doesn't fit my widescreen monitor. Whenever I try to change it to 1680 x 1050 the screen goes black and a little box with an i on it says ';Out of Range';.

It's usually set to 1680 x 1050...I don't really know how it got to 1440 x 900. And I have a vista, if that makes any difference.

Could someone please tell me how to get the right resolution back?When I try to change my screen resolution, it says ';Out of Range';?
Out of Range will also crop up if the refresh range is incorrect. If possible on your PC try changing both the resolution and refresh rate (try lowering it) before hitting apply.When I try to change my screen resolution, it says ';Out of Range';?
Your video card doesn't have the capability to show resolutions that high, or you don't have one. Or maybe your monitor is not compatible with that resolution.
Who changed the resolution from 1680 x 1050 to 1440 x 900?

1680x1050 is a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is the computer wide screen standard, and 1440 x 900 is a 16:9 aspect ratio which is television wide screen (HDTV) standard. Not a lot of graphics cards will handle both. Complicating things is Vista, which under some conditions can install a software conversion to allow HDTV to be shown on your monitor screen.

It takes 720i and multiplies it, in this case by two and blocks out the extra lines on the bottom of the screen. I am not too familiar with the way Vista can be told to switch to HDTV standard. (not too many people are%26lt; as far as I know),

So you either have a monitor which has a switch on it someplace to let it accept HDTV signals from a tuner which will send the audio to a speaker system, or the change was made in vista, and every time it boots it sets the screen to 1440 to 900. this is not done through the control panel, which is why I suggest you find who in the family made the change, and hopefully by reversing whatever was done, you can get your whole screen back.

    I have an HP laptop. I know how to do it on a dell but not an HP.

    i cant find where to change the screen resolutions.How do I change my computer screen size?
    If you have XP as and OS then

    Click the ';Start'; button in Windows.

    Step 2 Select ';Control Panel.';

    Step 3 Select ';Appearance and Themes.';

    Step 4 Select ';Change the Screen Resolution.';

    Step 5 Look at the left side of the ';Display Properties'; dialog window. About half way down the screen you will see a box labeled ';Screen resolution.'; There is an adjustable slider in this box.

    Step 6 Move the slider left or right, by holding down the left mouse button, and moving the mouse in the appropriate direction. Release the button when the slider is pointing to the resolution you desire.

    Step 7 Click the ';Apply'; button at the bottom right of the window. The screen will go black for an instant, and then will switch to the new resoulution. You will also see a message pop up asking you to confirm the setting. If you are unsatisfied with the appearance, then click ';no,'; and try another resolution. Otherwise, click ';yes.';

    If you have vista:

    1. Open Display Settings by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, clicking Personalization, and then clicking Display Settings.

    2. Under Resolution, move the slider to the resolution you want, and then click Apply

    How do I change my monitor's screen resolution to widescreen?

    Hello.. guys... I have a problem... I have a squared monitor or a 4:3 monitor that looks kinda like this:

    http://techgage.com/reviews/samsung/743b/samsung_743b_01_thumb.jpg

    And I want to change the screen resolution to widescreen but when i try to do so with the windows display options, it supposedly changes it to widescreen but it only stretches out, the image looks ugly and it still fills up the entire screen. I wish I could just put it widescreen and I don't care if black stripes appeared at the top and button of the screen. All I want is a 16:9 resolution on my 4:3 monitor. :S I don't know if that's possible? Any help would help. Thanks in advance!How do I change my monitor's screen resolution to widescreen?

    I can't change my screen resolution...?

    I recently reinstalled a new version of Windows XP onto my computer. I've gotten most of the drivers working again but the graphics isn't letting me change my screen resolution from the giant-looking 800x600 to my normal 1024x768. When I try to switch, it goes black with a screen saying ';video mode not supported.'; How can I make the screen reso change itself?I can't change my screen resolution...?
    You need the drivers for your system's video card. Otherwise, all you'll have are the generic Windows VGA drivers which usually don't go higher than 800x600x16 bits. If you still have the driver disk that came with your computer, try that. Otherwise, find out what graphics system your PC has, either form the manual or Googling it online. If it's a common graphics system, then you shopuld be able to find drivers online at the graphics manufacturer's site.

    You could also look in the Hardware manager at what graphics system is installed. Use the Windows-Break key combo to get into the system properties.I can't change my screen resolution...?
    It sounds like you don't have current video card drivers.

    Try this;

    1) connect to the internet (assuming you are dial out or if always connected no issue)

    2)RH mouse click on my computer RH not LH

    3)Drop down to Properties - the bottom selection

    4)LH mouse click on Properties

    5)Select with LH mouse click Hardware

    6)LH Mouse select ';Device Manager';

    7)LH Mouse select from the devices ';Display Adapters';

    8)RH, not LH, Mouse click on your video Adapter

    9)LH mouse click on ';Update Driver';

    10) Select update driver this one time (Top Selection ';This time only';)

    11)Select ';install the software automatically';

    12)Select next on the bottom

    13)It should go on the net, if this is a MS Supported Video Card, update the drives and if it does so then click finish.

    14) Then try to change the video settings

    If it doesn't do an update and says cannot do update then you will need to go to your MFG's site, Like www.dell.com. They will ask what you want to do in one verbage or another similar to below.

    select support, then software, then drivers, then it will or already did ask for your model and or ID tag, download the video drive and run the install and then after, mostlikly rebooting attempt to adjust your video pixal settings.

    Good Luck and I hope this helps.

    How do I fix the blurriness when I change my screen resolutions?

    I recently got the MS Blaster worm and had to get my computer reformatted (Windows XP). When I got my computer back and connected it to my screen, it was off centered with a big black vertical bar on the left side. So I went to my properties and lowered my settings to screen resolutions 1280 by 800. The screen is now centered, but all of my features are blurry. The icons are slightly stretched vertically and the text is barely legible. This computer and monitor make is a HP Pavilion f1703. How do I make the blurriness go away and fix everything so that it is normal?How do I fix the blurriness when I change my screen resolutions?
    Install the latest drivers for your graphics chip/card. If anything your running on the Windows drivers which aren't all that good and work just as bad. I posted links to both Nvidias and ATIs website for their respective drivers.How do I fix the blurriness when I change my screen resolutions?
    The HP f1703 has a native resolution of 1280x1024, so set your resolution to that. If the image is off-center when you do, you have to use the menu buttons on the front of the monitor to enter the menu and adjust ';Vertical Position'; and ';Horizontal Position';.
    non-native resolutions can do that without adjustments. put it in the one you want, and then use the controls on your monitor (the physical button ones) to move and stretch your screen until the ascpect ratio (squareness of the square things) is correct.
    You have to increase your Screen Refresh Rate , follow steps i hope that can help you;

    Right Click your desktop -%26gt; Properties -%26gt; Settings Tab -%26gt; Press Advanced -%26gt; Monitor Tab -%26gt; There is a Screen Refresh Rate , increase your monitor hertz from there.

    If you get message '; Out of Range '; you have to select lower values.

    If ';hide modes that this monitor cannot display'; unchecked , check it , otherwise you can get out of range message.

    By the way there is a good program for lock your refresh rates, it name ';Refresh Lock'; , you can download it from ;

    ubuntu was working fine, i was working on getting my wireless card up, but last night i booted it it up (hd tv is the moniter) and everything went fine, got to the login screen, and i can see everything fine, but once i log in ubuntu changes the screen resolution to something that the tv wont display. is there an easy way around this at all? or even a hard way? i think there was a key comand on suse to cycle resolutions but that never worked on suse for me, something like that because i can use a keyboard and a mouse and no screen. can i stop it from doing start x and just use teh linux itself to change the res? idk what to doUbuntu: how do i change the screen resolution if i cant see the screen!?
    If you can get into the GRUB menu when you boot you should have the option of booting in verbose or some kind of ';safe'; mode. You should then be able to change the resolution. I didn't know how to do this when it happened to me and had to reinstall.

    How Do I Change My Screen Resolution to 1280x1024?

    Ok, I know that it sounds easy but really its not like that. I have a ViewSonic VA721 runnig on a S3 Graphics ProSavage video card. My computer is a Compaq Presario. I REINSTALLED WINDOWS XP because I had to renew my computer. When I go on properties%26gt; settings%26gt; screen resolution, its 800x600 and the other is 1024x768. No 1280x1024 is available. however, I try to change it to 1024x768 my screen goes black and it reboots. I tried Updating the driver for my video card but it doesnt seem to really work.

    I know that it can be changed to a higher resolution because I could do so before I reinstalled XP. After reinstalling XP I'm stuck with this low resolution and it stops me from being able to use my softwares properly.

    Please help me out. I'd really appreciate it!!

    The problem lies with your monitor, it has a maximum resolution of 1024x768 (must be a pretty old monitor).

    If you want to exceed that your only option is to buy a new monitor.How do you get a better screen resolution for Windows 7?
    It depends on your monitor. If it says out of range then you either have the wrong/none drivers for your videocard or your monitor is an old cathode ray type. Most 17 inch LCD screens run at 1280x1024. You cant force it.

    All LCD monitors have a NATIVE resolution, this means they are always sharpest at THEIR NATIVE resolution (ie;1280x1024 for 17inch LCD) and should be run at that. Windows 7 should have selected the correct setting for your screen unless you have not loaded the correct video drivers.
    Do you know the resolution your screen ran at before you upgraded to Win7? If it's higher than 1280x1024, you might need to see if you require a monitor driver, or perhaps Win7 is trying to force a refresh rate that's not supported at that resolution.

    You could also try running Windows Update to see if there's a missing driver that hasn't been installed and might need to be loaded.

    Why does my screen resolution change after hibernation?

    I have a new Dell Vostro laptop on Windows XP. After hibernating, my screen display comes out in an enlarged resolution so I can't even see the entire screen and it even shifts side to side or up and down as I move my mouse pointer in that direction.

    To fix it I simply right click on the desktop, select properties, go to settings and move the resolution to anything, apply it and then it is corrected. I usually move it to the max resolution but it doesn't make a difference as the problem recurs, not everytime, but most of the time. The resolution seems to be right where I last set it so its not like its resetting itself to a certain resolution each time.

    You have to install the latest drivers for your video card, if it is onboard graphics then the best bet is to look up the model number on the motherboard and do a drivers search for it.

    If it is an Nvidia or ATI graphics card go on there website and download their latest drivers.

    With them installed you should then be able to change the resolution without further hassle

    Questions...%26amp; I still don't know if I can help. What is your operating system, Windows_? Are you talking about 8 bit then? That game must be farly old. Did you ever try finding the file in your computer of the game itself? It would be something like ';the game';.exe %26amp; run it from there...2x clicking the file. Maybe the game got corrupted %26amp; a message box will popup %26amp; tell you so. If you right click on the .exe file %26amp; click properties it has limited info. If you right click %26amp; see a ';compatibility'; tab, you might be able to run it as a lesser operating system program. Also, do you need 800x600 screen resolution %26amp; are you stuck at 1024x768? If none of this works run checkdisk %26amp; check the fix files option...restart your computer if it tells you it will have to start at restart. It'll take about 20 minutes %26amp; you can watch it run. Checkdisk is Scandisk on older computers. Hopefully it will fix your problem getting to a different resolution.
    Assuming you want the screen resolution to be 640x480, right-click on the games icon and select properties. Click the Compatibility tab and place a checkmark beside ';Run in 640 x 480 screen resoltion'; then click Apply. Open the game and it will be in its proper resolution!

    First are you attempting to make it smaller or bigger. If you are attempting a resolution your system does not support it will not allow you to set it. Also does your system know what type of video card and monitor you have? On the same screen you can change your resolution, it should say this monitor on this video card.

  • Screen Resolution Stuck On Lowest Setting?

    Recently, our computer crashed and we managed to recover it. As soon as we switched it back on, the colours of the screen were wrong. E.g, the start bar at the bottom of the screen is really bright blue. The colours of the tool bars are also wrong. We try to go into display settings to change the screen resolution, but it is stuck on the lowest setting. We are unable to drag the slider across. We are also unable to connect to the internet. Any suggestions on how to change the resolution and how to get on the internet would be appreciated.Screen Resolution Stuck On Lowest Setting?
    this is a VERY common problem, all that you need to do is download the appropriate video drivers for your computer and then you should be able to adjust your settings just like you normally would. i constantly reformat hard drives and restore computers to new windows installations and this is the answer every time. drivers can be found with a simple google search for the right model name and numbers if you need help finding this information then i recommend the freeware program ';CPU-Z'; it is very small and gives a very accurate description of what your computer has inside, simply click the video tab and all you need will be right there

    Black screen because of too high resolution?

    I've set my screen resolution on normal mode too high(I can't remember but it is too high) and now every time I turn on the computer I got a black screen. I tried on safe mode and VGA mode and it works well and no black screen.

    I was going to ask if how can I change the screen resolution on normal mode this way since I can't go in the normal mode?Black screen because of too high resolution?
    this is just a guess...

    in safe mode, go to device manager and uninstall the driver of the video card.

    then go back to the normal mode, then try reinstalling the driver again.

    the option is not available from the menu..How can i change my screen resolution to 1680x1050 on a dell in windows xP?
    That is a massive screen res.

    Are you sure your monitor supports it?

    Maybe your video card does not have enough memory to output at that res in ';true color';.

    If in doubt you should download and install the latest video drivers for your video card. That can definately affect available res if you are using a generic driver.

    But that's still a huge resolution - what are you using - a 24'; monitor?How can i change my screen resolution to 1680x1050 on a dell in windows xP?
    If the option isn't there, then it means that your monitor cannot support it.

    However, if you are comfortable with panning around, you can create a custom resolution in your Nvidia control panel. Click on Manage Custom Resolutions, click Create, then make your own.

    Yeah, your monitor only supports up to 1440x900. You can make it 1680x1050 but you will need to pan around to see it all.

    BTW, that isn't a big resolution. If you have a 24';, it will be 1920x1200 probably.

    Try right clicking a blank area on the taskbar at the bottom of your screen and select ';Cascade Windows'; to see if you can get that game window back up.

    Not all older programs play well under Windows 7. The Professional and higher versions have an XP compatibility mode that might help.

    First off I would get rid of ME- its the worst operating system that windows has created. Crashes all the time. But to answer your question: Right click on your desktop and you should have an option for properties. left click on that. Should open a window saying ';display properties'; left click on the tab for Settings...on the lower right of this window will be a left right scroll bar that changes the settings. Move it to the right to make the icons on the screen smaller so you have a higher resolution.How can I change my screen resolution.I just installed ME edition.I went to my control panel %26amp; it says 640x800
    This is because you need to install the proper drivers for your graphics card. You may have them on a driver CD (most proably motherboard driver cd as Gcards r built into the motherbaord these days)

    download the graphics drivers from support.dell.com and install them.
    You need to reinstall the drivers for your display adapter, according to my boyfriend the computer whiz. If you went from something other than XP to this XP pro you may have to go to the XP website and download hte drivers
    Usually you're limited to those resolutions if you don't have SVGA Drivers. Find out the make and model of your video card, go to the manufacturer website and find the latest drivers for your card. You might have to open up your tower. Or if you can, go to Computer Mgmt. and tool around in there.
    Assuming you have a PC and not a Mac, go to Start, select Control Panel, Appearances, Display, Display Properties, Settings (each in turn) and then use the controls on that display to obtain what you want.

    Don't worry. If you don't get it right the first time, nothing will explode. Do be aware that you shorten the life of your monitor, the higher your settings. Not a biggie if you plan to replace in, say, three years, but a definite consideration if you are going for the long haul.
    I reformat my computer a lot just pop in the driver disk

    If you dont have a driver disk get the drivers for the video card.

    The link you included isn't a resolution change. You can change your resolution under Options %26gt; Video Options, but that won't give you the bars on that picture.

    Those bars are created by a UI AddOn called ';TitanBar';, and several other AddOns which act as modules of TitanBar. Another, similar, AddOn which tends to take a bit less memory load, is called ';FuBar';.How to change my World of Warcraft screen resolution?

    I can't change my screen resolution from 800x600 to 1280x1024. When I go to control panel, display, it's got no tabs, so I can't go under settings to change it. I even tried from the desktop, it makes no difference, it's still tabless. I even tried those buttons on my monitor to set it, and it still won't do! Can anyone please help me with this?How can I change my screen resoultion on Windows XP?
    If you are locked into 800x600 mode, you may not be using the right drivers for your graphics card and/or monitor. Windows XP will often fall back into 800x600 mode as a failsafe in this situation. You may want to try visiting the manufacturer's website, and see if you can grab updated drivers from there.

    My ubuntu screen reslolution is stuck at 640x480 when attempting to change it via system/prefrences/screen resolution nothing happens after clicking the arrows for either the resolution or the refresh rate, i know my monitor supports at least 1024x768 how can i change it to this?Cant change ubuntu screen resolution?
    I used to have such problem. I installed Ubuntu on laptop (with max 1024x768), but I am using external monitor (with max 1600x1200). I don't remember the exact solution to this problem.

    The problem lies with X windows system configuration (assuming the drivers are ok). The drivers are probed for maximum resolution during installation, and after that the system simply assumes the resolution is ok.

    You need to go through manuals for X window system configuration and reset it. If I am not mistaken, it is some .conf file within /etc/X11 or something.Cant change ubuntu screen resolution?
    I suggest you check and see if your video card drivers are compatible with Ubuntu. This can prevent you from making changes to the display settings.
    You can easily click on ';Desktop'; from menu bar.

    then go to preferences and choose resolution size.

    finally choose your favorite resolution.

    But I think it would't work so good. choosing the resolution during the installation is the best way.
