How do I keep the screen resolution on my Vista computer from changing?

The screen resolution keeps on changing back 1024x768 instead of keeping it on 1280x800. I have Windows Vista and every other time I restart my computer it somehow changes the screen resolution. This is very annoying, if someone can give me a tip on how to fix it that would be amazing. How do I keep the screen resolution on my Vista computer from changing?

To circumvent the issue of screen resolution changing during boot-up or restarting from sleep, configure your screen saver setting to ';display logon screen';. This worked for me when all other suggested solutions (drivers etc. would not.).
