How can i change my screen resolution to 1680x1050 on a dell in windows xP?

the option is not available from the menu..How can i change my screen resolution to 1680x1050 on a dell in windows xP?
That is a massive screen res.

Are you sure your monitor supports it?

Maybe your video card does not have enough memory to output at that res in ';true color';.

If in doubt you should download and install the latest video drivers for your video card. That can definately affect available res if you are using a generic driver.

But that's still a huge resolution - what are you using - a 24'; monitor? How can i change my screen resolution to 1680x1050 on a dell in windows xP?
If the option isn't there, then it means that your monitor cannot support it.

However, if you are comfortable with panning around, you can create a custom resolution in your Nvidia control panel. Click on Manage Custom Resolutions, click Create, then make your own.

Yeah, your monitor only supports up to 1440x900. You can make it 1680x1050 but you will need to pan around to see it all.

BTW, that isn't a big resolution. If you have a 24';, it will be 1920x1200 probably.
right click on the home screen and select graphic properties u should be able to change it there
