How come i cant change me screens resolution?

I just upgraded to Windows Vista Home Premium, but before this i had Windows XP Sp2 and my screens resolution was at the highest it can be, but since i upgraded to Vista i cant change it it can only stay at the lowest, and the color can only be at 16 Bit, when i was on XP i could change the color to 32 Bit, but Vista wont let me, if there is a way to fix this, or if i have to go back to XP i am willing to do either!

Because you didnt update your video driver for Vista. Go find it on the pc or card mfgs website.How come i cant change me screens resolution?
