Why won't windows vista let me change my screen resolution?

The screen resolution is stuck at 16bit 600X800. It wont let me scroll to a higher resolution and there is only 16 bit colors. How can i fix this? I have a dell dimension 2400 2.8ghz 768mb of ram integrated graphics card 80gb hard drive. Why won't windows vista let me change my screen resolution?
It will more than likely be your Graphics adapter/card is not good enough to support higher resolutions etc.Why won't windows vista let me change my screen resolution?
There might be something wrong with the driver of your graphics card, try to update it or install a fresh one from support.dell.com.

Hope it helps
