I have an old CTR screen which i use and it will look nice and fit nice with 1020 or something like that, but when i change it to my SAMSUNG LCD 480p HDTV it wont go up it stays at 800x600 and icons and everything looks big, even if i hold CTRL And scroll the screen in the internet to make it look smaller it does, but the letters look wayy to small.. idk why an LCD can't show 1024x768 and my old optiquest can show it, please help i have an IMB 2GB RAM Around 80GB HARDDRIVE

make sure you have all drivers installed.....on your computer and also install the drivers from the CD you got with the monitor
Your graphics card can't support the resolution. That is why you are stuck at that resolution.
Also, it depends on the size of the lcd you are trying to use.
